From Old Fashioned “Board Art”
to high-tech Computer Graphics
In the late 1980’s, after almost 20 years of producing “board art” by hand, we became computerized. We are a Mac-based studio and produce most of our print and electronic projects using Adobe software.
We’ve been designing websites for about fifteen years and use the following software and resources:
• Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro
• Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5
• Adobe ImageReady CS5
• Adobe Illustrator CS5
• Adobe InDesign CS5
• Adobe Photoshop CS5
• Media Lab SiteGrinder3
• QuarkExpress
• SiteGrinder 3.5
Our business began as Axtell Art Service, a small cartoon studio located in Long Beach, California. I was then drawing cartoons for several magazines and a few steady clients.
Before long, clients started asking if I could produce other types of projects, to which I would reply, “Sure I can!” One type of project led to another, and before long “I” became “we,” and we began offering additional graphic art and design services.
In the mid 1970’s, we began creating display advertisements, then complete advertising campaigns. Writing radio spots and producing television commercials naturally followed. We soon discovered we were no longer a graphic design studio but were now an advertising agency and changed our name to Axtell Design and Advertising, Inc.
Today, we’re Axtell Design Graphics and Marketing, LLC and still have that “Sure we can!” attitude.
Computer Maintenance/Repair
There was a time when we had computer or I.T. problems we used to panic! After all, we’re creatives, not techies.
Then we were introduced to First Stop Tech computer repair at the Olney Entrepreneurs Club, tried their services, and have been using them ever since. Call William Jacobs in Olney at 301-825-5824. You’ll appreciate his service and attention to detail.
